Is SAC Day Right for Your Family? |
Ten Reasons why SAC Day may not be right for you: 1. You favor a non-traditional/non-academic approach to education. 2. Your student is not self-motivated and does not work independently. 3. Your student is academically advanced and desires college level classes. 4. You prefer to work only around your own schedule. 5. You do not like structured learning environments with deadlines. 6. You like to take extended vacations or trips during the school year. 7. Your student is unable to spend the majority of his time on academics. 8. Your student is only interested in attending SAC Day for social reasons. 9. You will not submit to the authority of tutors or leaders at SAC Day. 10. You have objections to a female leadership board. |
Ten Reasons why you may LOVE SAC Day: 1. Help with high school level classes and access to experienced tutors. 2. Access to group classes such as theater, choir, and science labs. 3. Transition period between homeschooling and college or work. 4. Opportunity to practice independence in schooling in preparation for college or work. 5. Opportunity to learn responsibility and time management in preparation for college or work. 6. Students will be held accountable for their actions. 7. Opportunity to practice working with others and becoming a "team-player". 8. Structured learning environment, deadlines, specific assignments and goals to work towards. 9. Help filling a solid high school transcript with all the general requirements needed for college admission. 10. Opportunity to "practice" some of the social, moral, intellectual, and study skills you have taught your student. |
