Below you will find a list and short description of the events and activities that are usually offered through HCCH. However, HCCH is an organization operated by volunteers. If leadership and volunteers from membership is not sufficient, an event will not take place.
Mom’s Night OutNeed some encouragement? Ready for a break? Mom’s Night Out may be for you. This group has a different emphasis each year depending on the needs of the group. Past sessions have featured guest speakers, book studies; and of course, good fellowship. Come as you are. Leave encouraged!
Park and Picnic Days
Can you come out to play! Moms with pre-school and elementary age children gather the second Friday of each month. Moms visit while children get out their wiggles. Hope to see you there for fellowship, fun and food!
Promotion Night
Promotion Night is celebrated in late April or early May of each year and represents an excellent opportunity for family and friends to congratulate their students on their academic and extracurricular achievements of the recent school year. Students are provided the opportunity to showcase their interests, projects, and awards. The event incorporates a talent and art contest as well.
Iowa Achievement Testing
HCCH coordinates the Iowa Achievement Test each May. Families who are interested in finding out more can log onto their web site . Fees include the test cost from BJU Press plus postage and handling. In an effort to keep the cost of testing down, HCCH requires a parent from each participating family to help facilitate the testing process. Parents may serve as a test coordinator, administrator, or monitor. Childcare workers are also needed. Test administrators must have a Bachelor’s degree and complete a simple application through BJU. The test coordinator orders tests from BJU Press, communicates with HCCH membership, and oversees test administrators.
Father / Daughter Dance and Dessert
This is a formal dance for HCCH fathers and their daughters. It is also open to fathers and daughters of the community. Held at Hillside Fellowship Church, it is a special evening for dads to show their daughters how much they are treasured. The dance is held in February the weekend before or after Valentines Day.
